Join a qualified instructor as they take you on an amazing underwater journey throughout the 74 islands off the coast of the Whitsundays.

Explore a beautiful fringing coral reef teeming with marine life and colourful corals right next to the Great Barrier Reef marine park.

The Whitsundays has a large range of colourful tropical reef fish and diver favourites such as Maroi wrasse, Queensland groupers, batfish, parrotfish and a vast range of angel and butterfly fish. All are good indicators of a healthy coral reef system found here.

Also commonly encountered on these dives are hawksbill turtles, olive sea snakes, featherstars, wobbiegong and reef sharks.

In the winter months, manta rays and humpback whales migrate to the Whitsundays and are also common sights

About the dive site

Black Island: Possibly island diving at its finest; Black Island is a favourite for a good reason! Black Island offers a gentle drift dive along the reef slope close to the island, and includes a very healthy and diverse range of hard and soft corals. Plenty of shallow caves, gullies and ledges to explore. Subject to some currents providing perfect conditions for lots of marine life.

Frequently Asked Questions

No, you don’t need to be certified to participate in the Discover Scuba activity.

You do need to be certified to participate in the Double Dive Adventure.

You must be medically fit to scuba dive.

You will be required to do a refresher before diving that will include basic skills learnt when you did your certification, the dive master will then asses your ability to dive before proceeding.

Scuba diving is a high risk sport, you should be aware of the risks, inherent and otherwise, involved in undertaking diving activity in the sea.

Diving is an exciting and demanding activity.

When performed correctly, applying correct techniques, it is relatively safe.

When established safety procedures are not followed, however, there are increased risks. You should have an appropriate level of physical fitness. Your respiratory and circulatory systems must be in good health. A person with coronary disease, a current cold or congestion, epilepsy, a severe medical problem or who is under the influence of alcohol or drugs should not dive.

Terms & Conditions:

Divers must be minimum open water certified, medically and physically fit to dive for the Double Dive Island Aventure. Divers that have not dived in the last 12 months will require refresher training.
Charters are dependant on wind conditions and could be cancelled due to poor weather.
Divers must be medically and physically fit to dive.
Island pickups incur a $70 additional charge

Cancellation Policy:

Cancellations need to be advised in writing to The Supplier and the following conditions will apply:
100% refund – for bookings cancelled more than 48 hours prior to date of travel.
Bookings cancelled at any time within the 48 hour cancellation period will not be refunded. The customer forfeits 100% booking price.
The Supplier reserves the right to cancel dive trips at any time for the following reasons:
Bad weather conditions – generally over 15 knots the trip could be cancelled
Minimum numbers not being met – The Supplier requires a minimum number of 3 divers before a dive is confirmed.
A full refund will be made to customers if AQUA5 cancels a dive trip due to weather or numbers
