WHAT TO EXPECT

Departs Launceston at 8.00 am.
This morning, head north-east to admire the amazing memorial carvings at Legerwood.
Then, get a taste for Tassie's local produce as you sample the cheesy delights of the Pyengana Dairy Company.
In the afternoon it’s time for the highlight of the day - the stunning Bay of Fires. With some of the whitest sand and clearest water you’ll ever see, take your time to explore the beach or maybe take a swim. If you like oysters you can purchase some of the best nearby at St Helens.
In the evening head to your accommodation in the seaside town of Bicheno. As darkness falls head to the beach to see the little penguins come ashore to nest.
Overnight: Bicheno
Day 2: Bicheno - Wineglass Bay, Freycinet & Kate’s Berry Farm
This morning, you'll have the option to check out animals at East Coast Natureworld, a popular wildlife sanctuary ($20pp). Arrive at feeding time for the Tasmanian devils, wombats, kangaroos, koalas and many more animals that call the park home!
Next, it’s time to pack a picnic lunch as you set off to another Tassie icon - the sparkling waters of Wineglass Bay in Freycinet National Park. There's a tough walk to be had here, but you'll be rewarded with fantastic views from the lookout.
This afternoon, travel down the scenic Great Eastern Drive back to Hobart with a stop at Kate’s Berry Farm at Swansea. This a great afternoon tea stop with some more spectacular views.
Overnight: Hobart
Day 3: Port Arthur
From Hobart, you'll take a short 25-minute drive to the historic village of Richmond. This spot boasts fine colonial buildings and the oldest bridge in Australia.
After looking around, continue on to the Tasman Peninsula, stopping to enjoy the view from Pirates Bay Lookout. Check out Doo Town, gaze out over Tasman Arch and see what’s cooking at the Devil’s Kitchen.
Then, walking on to Waterfall Bay you’ll enjoy spectacular views from the clifftops.
Next up is the highlight of the day, the opportunity to check out Tasmania’s convict heritage at Port Arthur. You have plenty of time to see the sights on a guided walking tour and harbour cruise. Hear about the harsh conditions that the earliest European residents of Tasmania experienced after being sent across the world.
After hearing all sorts of stories from the past and exploring the fascinating old buildings, it's time to head back to Hobart.
Overnight: Hobart
Day 4: Bruny Island
Spectacular Bruny Island is a feast for the senses. After a short ferry ride from Kettering, a private tasting at Bruny Island Cheese awaits!
