WHAT TO EXPECT
Journey into the Dreamtime and discover the magic of Australia's ancient Indigenous culture. Dive into an evening of spectacular performances, tropical tastes and history. It's like nothing you've experienced before!
Itinerary:
You'll be picked up from your Port Douglas accommodation at 6.15. Enjoy a complimentary drink as you travel 45 minutes to your Tjapukai experience.
Once you arrive, head to the Canopy Breezeway, an Aboriginal Art Centre, which houses a stunning array of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander art exhibitions. Enjoy complimentary sparkling wine and try canapes inspired by bush tucker foods as you admire the works.
Next, have your face painted by the Bama Indigenous rainforest people to link you to their traditional land! They'll then take you on a mesmerising journey through their past, accompanied by the haunting sounds of the didgeridoo.
Afterwards, you'll follow the Tjapukai warriors along a firelit path to a rainforest dance theatre. Here, you'll get to watch a sacred corroboree that celebrates Aboriginal Dreamtime stories.
Further this incredible experience with a lakeside fire ceremony. Become part of the Rainbow Serpent circle, learn traditional language songs and make music with Aboriginal sticks. You'll also witness the ceremonial fire being lit. Make sure you're watching when the spectacular fireball shoots towards the stars!
Next, it's time to enjoy a meal of tropical delights at the Flame Tree Bar & Grill. Enjoy Australian meats including kangaroo and crocodile and try delicious local seafood. There's also an array of salads and desserts featuring tantalising Indigenous flavours.
After filling your bellies, it's time to end the evening of cultural celebrations with the Tjapukai warriors beside the campfire. There's time for an intimate chat and photo opportunities before you head home.
