Yes, you do need a 4WD to get around on Fraser Island due to the nature of the tracks.

Fraser Island is a beautiful place to visit all year round!

Swimming along the coast on Fraser Island is not recommended as there are dangerous sharks and dangerous rip tides. There are also no lifeguards along the coast on Fraser Island. There are plenty of freshwater lakes on Fraser Island that are safe to swim in and Champagne Pools is the only safe saltwater swimming area.

It is highly recommended that you meet your tour at Pippies Beachhouse in Rainbow Beach between 9am and 4pm the day before you depart. This is so they&nbsp;can explain a few things about the tour and the island, as well as sign a waiver and watch a video before your early departure the next morning.

If you are unable to attend,&nbsp;it is very important that Pippies know you will not be there in time. Think follow-the-leader style, a tag-along tour involves 3 vehicles of travellers following one vehicle driven by a tour guide.

If someone doesn&rsquo;t want to drive they will be put into the tour guide&#39;s vehicle.&nbsp;

To drive, it is outlined by the Queensland Government that you must be over the age of 21 and have held your full open license for at least one whole year.

If driving please make sure you bring your driver&rsquo;s license with you.

Infants and toddlers are not allowed on this tour as there are no car seats for them in the vehicles.

Children are only permitted on the tour if they are accompanied by an adult

Please note: This is not a &#39;family friendly&#39; Fraser Island tour, however, families can book as long as they are aware that this tour is mainly for backpackers aged between 18 and 35-years-old.

As there are 8 travellers per each vehicle, you will most likely be travelling with &#39;strangers&#39;.&nbsp;

The campsite only has double tents, however, for those who don&#39;t wish to share, The Operator may be able to offer an alternative.

Each solo guests does get to choose their &#39;tent buddy&#39;.

Visit World Heritage-listed K&#39;gari (formerly Fraser Island)&nbsp;on the ultimate Australian beach 4X4 driving and participatory camping adventure. Experience 4X4 driving yourself in one of the tag-along vehicles whilst visiting one of Australia&#39;s&nbsp;most amazing freshwater lakes and ancient rainforests!

Day one starts early with a 7am departure from Rainbow Beach, where you&#39;ll take the barge across from Inskip Point to K&#39;gari (Fraser Island). Once the tires hit the sand on the other side, you&#39;ll take the awe-inspiring drive&nbsp;up the first portion of 75 Mile Beach to Eurong. Then, turn inland towards Lake McKenzie, one of the most beautiful locations on the island. On arrival,&nbsp;take a dip in these incredibly pure, clear waters. Words do not do this amazing lake any justice.

&nbsp;

Following Lake McKenzie, you&#39;ll drive to Central Station where you&#39;ll eat lunch and walk along the waters of the very special Wanggoolba Creek. Learn K&#39;gari&#39;s&nbsp;history in a time before this beautiful island was protected. You&#39;ll then leave for a drive back to 75 Mile Beach and onto the camp. Chill out for a bit, then it&#39;s time for dinner.&nbsp;Cook a BBQ together with your new K&#39;gari family and spend the night socialising together next to a campfire or under the covered seating area.

&nbsp;

On Day 2, you&#39;ll wake up early (hangovers are no excuse!) to a delicious&nbsp;breakfast of toast and cereal before getting back in the cars to head further north.&nbsp;Arrive at the Champagne Pools to cleanse under awesome waves crashing over into the natural rock pools, creating the bubbly &ldquo;champagne&quot; effect they&#39;re famous for.

&nbsp;

Then, it&#39;s back to the cars again for a short drive to to the stunning Indian Head (one of the few rock formations on the island). Here, climb to the top for a chance to spot the amazing marine wildlife that can be seen off of K&#39;gari (Fraser Island). If luck is on your side, you may spot humpback whales (August &ndash; October), sharks, sea turtles, dolphins, huge rays, and many schools of tropical fish. Next, drive back to camp for lunch and before heading onto the next location.

Following a short drive down the beach, discover the&nbsp;largest creek on the Eastern Beach; Eli Creek. Take a walk up the boardwalk with a rubber ring and float down these serene waters. Eli Creek pumps up to 4 million litres of freshwater into the sea every hour!&nbsp;

The second to last location of the day is a short drive from Eli Creek; the Maheno shipwreck. As the sun lowers in the sky,&nbsp;watch the rusty wreck against the sea sky and discover the incredible coloured sands seen up the coast.&nbsp;Finally, take a&nbsp;short stop at The Pinnacles on the way back to camp. Seen from the beach, this sand formation is a prime example of the coloured sands seen all up the K&#39;gari Coast.

Arriving back at camp to take a breather after an amazing day, wash away the sand in the amazing amenities block just a short walk from our campsite, before a delicious dinner. Tonight, enjoy&nbsp;spaghetti bolognese with garlic bread, followed by another night of socialising under some of the Southern Hemisphere&rsquo;s most spectacular stars.

&nbsp;

The last day in paradise includes another yummy&nbsp;breakfast before setting off to the final location.&nbsp;Drive a moderate distance down the Eastern Beach to the entrance of Lake Wabby. Here, walk for around 45 minutes down a beautiful sand track, through the bush and out onto the Hammerstone Sandblow. Located a short walk along the sand blow, Lake Wabby is the deepest lake on K&#39;gari (Fraser Island), so be sure to take a dip and chill next on its shores.

After&nbsp;lunch on the beach, it is time to make your way back to the barge and Rainbow Beach. Arrive back&nbsp;between 1pm and 4:30pm (dependent on the tides).&nbsp;

I loved my 3 days on fraser! We went to beautiful places, got very good food and very comfortable tents, mats and sleepig bags. I slept great. We were also a very cool group of young and motivated people, which was definetly the most important part. The only sad thing was when it was over. We all found that we would have loved to stay a few days longer.

I had the best time!

Loved this tour. Great vibe, food and it was nice with hot showers on the camp. Would definitely recommend this tour if you want an amazing experience:)
