For the Outback Tour, vehicles take 16-20 passengers only. We keep our numbers small to create a more personalised day tour experience.

Hat, sunscreen, camera with extra batteries, water bottle, extra cash for cold drinks, souvenirs or an ice-cream

Wear comfortable clothes and flat closed in shoes. No thongs (flip flops) and no high heels. If you do not have closed in shoes you may not be allowed in the Caves due to safety reasons and the decision of National Parks. In winter you will need to take a light coat.&nbsp;

All dietary requirements must be notified at the time of reservation. We can cater for vegetarians and most other requirements, within reason if they are medical. Please note you are touring to a remote location and having lunch at an outback pub, so there is not a big selection.

No, due to the remoteness of the area we can not provide WiFi in our vehicles. This may also mean limited mobile reception throughout the day as well.

You will need to be reasonably fit as there are stairs, and some uneven ground and will take an hour to walk through the cave system at a slow pace.

There are a few confined spaces you will need to go through during the cave tour. If you do not like really confined spaces, please notify the local guide.

Yes, children are welcome on this tour. Prams and strollers are not permitted into the caves, so the children will need to be able to walk or you will need to carry them. The cave tour will take at least an hour and there are stairs and uneven ground. (Please note this is a 12 hour day so take this into consideration when taking children on this tour - booster seats provided)

Unfortunately due to the narrow passages, steps and elevated platforms of the Chillagoe Caves, this tour is not suitable for wheelchair or walking disabilities.

Take a 4WD adventure away from the tropical coast of Cairns with a trip inland to Chillagoe, home of the famous Chillagoe Caves.&nbsp;

&nbsp;

You&#39;ll get picked up from your&nbsp;Cairns, Palm Cove and Northern Beaches accommodations, jumping onboard the&nbsp;custom-built air-conditioned 4WD vehicle. Then, travelling west, you&#39;ll&nbsp;ascend the McAllister Ranges, keeping an eye out&nbsp;for different species of bush animals, including emus, wedge-tail eagles, squatter pigeons, kangaroos and frilled neck lizards.

The day&#39;s first stop is for a little caffeine hit at the Skybury Coffee Plantation in Mareeba. Enjoy morning tea of scones, jam and cream, and tropical fruit while enjoying a hot, fresh brew and stunning views from the balcony.&nbsp;

Next up is a&nbsp;private local ranger-guided Chillagoe-Mungana Caves National Park tour.&nbsp;Explore the explore Donna, Trezkinn and Royal Arch caves &ndash; limestone labyrinths that are a portal to a lost world just like the Great Barrier Reef. Learn about the fossilized remains of the ancient coral reefs of the former inland sea,&nbsp;some 400&ndash;420 million years old, as you explore&nbsp;cathedral-like caves, marvelling at huge limestone columns and calcite crystals.&nbsp;

&nbsp;

Then, at the&nbsp;Chillagoe Smelter Ruins, delve into the history of the Chillagoe copper smelters, whose old chimneys dominate the western horizon.

&nbsp;

Speaking of history, enjoy lunch at Chillagoe&#39;s 100-year-old pub &ndash; a true Australian Outback Pub built back at the turn of the last century.&nbsp;There is also time to visit the unique gift shop in Chillagoe, specialising in Chillagoe marble and local Aboriginal art.

&nbsp;

After lunch, the tour will visit Balancing Rock for an iconic photo opportunity,&nbsp;see Aboriginal Rock Art and learn about some Dreamtime stories. Lastly, as the group heads back into Cairns, stop at Granite Gorge to get up close and personal with the local rock wallabies.

Any expenses incurred by any passenger because of any action or omissions of the operator, its servants and agents are the sole responsibility of the passenger.&nbsp;The operator is unable to guarantee exact arrival or departure times and is not liable for any failure to make connections with any other service or guarantee the vehicle type used or operation of any service. Whilst we the operator make every effort to safeguard our clients and belongings we will not be held responsible for any personal injury or loss due to events beyond our control.

Multi-Day Packages:&nbsp;Customers can cancel their trip up to 24 hours before Day 1 of multi-day packages for a full refund. If you cancel within the 24-hour period before day 1 of your multi-day package, no refund will be issued. Rebooking fees of $50 may also apply.

Cancellations by us:&nbsp;In the instance that your preferred date of travel is cancelled by us, we will rebook you on the next available date we are departing at no additional cost to you.

COVID-19:&nbsp;In the event that you need to cancel due to COVID Government-mandated travel restrictions and you are forced to cancel your tour which is outside of your control, you can cancel and rebook at no additional cost to you. Read more about our health and safety procedures here.

Booked via Agents:&nbsp;If you booked through a third-party travel agent, please contact your agent directly regarding your refund or rebooking request first. Private Charters:&nbsp;Private charters if cancelled 7 days or less will incur a 100% cancellation fee.

<h3>ITINERARY CHANGES DUE TO COVID-19</h3>

Due to COVID restrictions, we have had to make alternative temporary changes to our itinerary. We have reduced the price to reflect these changes. Please see below a list of changes:

<h3>VACCINATIONS</h3>

As per the&nbsp;<a href="https://www.qld.gov.au/health/conditions/health-alerts/coronavirus-covid-19/current-status/queensland-restrictions-80-percent-vaccination">QLD State Government Health Guidelines</a>, you do not need to be vaccinated&nbsp;to participate in our tours.

<h3>TRAVEL WELL</h3>

	<li>Recording contact information:&nbsp;before travel, agents and/or passengers must provide passengers phone number, email and accommodation address. If we do not have this information prior to travel, passengers will be refused entry. These records are used only for the purposes of tracing COVID-19 and are stored securely.

	<li>Paperless check-in:&nbsp;passengers will be picked up from their accommodation at the scheduled time. 
	&nbsp;</li>
	<li>Cashless payments:&nbsp;all bookings must be paid in full prior to travel. Passengers will not be able to pay with cash at any stage throughout the tour. 
	&nbsp;</li>
	<li>Social distancing:&nbsp;will be enforced on board as well as at boarding and disembarking to minimise crowding. Our vehicles will carry a maximum of 17 passengers. COVID-Safe restrictions for seating within vehicles requires social distancing between staff and passengers. Although COVID restrictions have eased for passenger seating, we will also ensure to not allow passengers to sit immediately beside other passengers from other bookings or family units. 
	&nbsp;</li>
	<li>Changes to food service:&nbsp;staff-controlled catering and service to minimise touchpoints for crew and passengers. There will be no self-serve food option, so we have temporarily removed the tropical fruit platter and damper. Lunch will be held at a local cafe restaurant and each passenger will be served individually. 
	&nbsp;</li>
	<li>Sanitising stations:&nbsp;hand sanitising stations will be placed throughout the vessel and buses and at entry points. Sanitising wipes will be available for passengers to wipe down seat belts, trays and armrests themselves. 
	&nbsp;</li>
	<li>Enhanced cleaning of equipment:&nbsp;with a focus on high contact areas, entrance points, signage, and changes to our food service. 
	&nbsp;</li>
	<li>Masks provided:&nbsp;while these are not mandatory from a safety point of view, we will have these available for use if you wish. Customers can also bring their own masks if preferred. 
	&nbsp;</li>
	<li>Staff training:&nbsp;all employees have completed the QTIC COVID Safe Training Program and will follow strict personal hygiene protocols including daily pre-screening. 
	&nbsp;</li>
	<li>Symptoms:&nbsp;if you are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, you will be refused entry and advised to seek medical advice and to contact our reservations team or your agent to reschedule your activity.</li>
