WHAT TO EXPECT
This cruise lives up to its name! Not only do you get to explore stunning Milford Sound from a boat, but you also get to peek under the surface at the Underwater Observatory.
This is the longest daytime cruise in Milford Sound and the leisurely pace allows you to take in the fiord in greater detail. So, slow down and take in the beauty of Milford and discover more!
Your trip starts with a spectacular cruise along the whole length of the fiord. Prepare to be amazed! Make sure you pack your camera! There's plenty to see along the way.
Your guides will take the time to answer your questions and tell you all about everything you see! Traveling in a smaller boat, you'll even get close enough to catch the eye of a basking seal, dolphin, or even a rare Fiordland crested penguin.
You'll be free to roam the vessel and take in the incredible views from the large outside viewing decks or comfortable indoor seating areas. You can also join the skipper in the open wheelhouse.
If you're a nature fan, head to the outer decks and listen to the specialist nature guides share their passion and knowledge of the wildlife, geology and history of the fiord.
Later, make a special stop under the Stirling Falls - the most magnificent waterfall in Milford. You can taste pure glacial water here, but careful not to get wet!
Next, the underwater fun begins. You'll visit the Milford Discovery Centre and Underwater Observatory where you can learn all about the history, geology and environment of Milford Sound. Descending 10 metres underwater, you'll be able to explore the hidden depths of this incredible area.
There's complimentary tea and coffee on board for you to enjoy throughout the cruise and a delicious picnic lunch included in the price.
