Paddle through sea caves, interact with the local marine life and discover the thrill of kayak sailing with the wind on your back. This tour lands at Cathedral Cove, one of the most picturesque spots in The Coromandel. Here you can enjoy cappuccinos and hot chocolates and walk along the beautiful beach! The tour moves at a comfortable and relaxed pace to enjoy the views and soak up the sun. The guides are full of local knowledge and have loads of fascinating stories and Maori legends to share. The stable sea kayaks allow children to safely enjoy their kayaking experience with an adult paddling right behind them. This is a totally fun, safe, and memorable tour!

How many participants are there?
Minimum unit order: 1 persons.
Can I paddle in a single kayak?
The tour uses kayaks 99% of the time. They are easy to paddle, modern and fast. If you are a very experienced kayaker and would like a single kayak then please let the tour know in advance.
Can I bring my camera, towel, swim gear & sunscreen?
Yes. The tour has dry bags for your camera and there are storage compartments in the kayaks for other items.
Where do you meet for the tour?
The tour meets beside the kayaks on Hahei Beach in front of the main car park.
What happens if the weather is bad on the day of?
If the trip is cancelled due to weather conditions there is no charge whatsoever. If you have prepaid for your tour then you will be refunded in full. If you booked via a travel agent then they will provide a full refund (you will need to contact them to arrange). You will have priority to rebook if you are staying in the area another day and wish to try again.
How do I get there?
By car: Park at the village entry car park during summer (December – March). It is well sign posted on the right as you enter Hahei. There is no charge for parking there and it is only a 20 minute walk to Hahei Beach. You can park at the Hahei Beach main car park at other times of the year. Please note that if you are staying in Hahei you can walk to the starting point from almost every accommodation option!
If you don’t have a car then you need to use the tour's pick up service. You take the Whitianga Ferry across to Ferry Landing. It is a 5 minute crossing and costs $6 return. The Ferry departs approximately every ten minutes. The tour will arrange a time to meet you at Ferry Landing when you call us to check the weather forecast the day before your trip. The shuttle service is $10pp return.
