Where we visit
Day 1: Bangkok Arrival and Welcome Dinner
After your arrival at Bangkok (BKK) Airport, a tour team leader will meet you and transfer you to your Bangkok accommodation.
Alternatively, you can ‘make your own way’ to the arrival accommodation after 2pm where staff will have your name and be able to check you into your room.
Once all travellers have arrived, head out for dinner and drinks together to explore the lively Khao San Road area, including the countless bars and restaurants that are scattered throughout this famous strip!
Please note: Arrivals into BKK Airport must be between 6am and 10pm.
Accommodation: During your time in Bangkok, guests will stay in dorm rooms at the Bed Station Hostel Khaosan. Complete with an on-site bar, you can make the most of the hostel’s shared facilities and make some new friends, or venture out to local attractions like the Grand Palace - which is just a 15 minute walk away. You could also head out for a delicious Tom Yum Kung or any of the other delicious Thai food options which are all located within a 5 minute walk away.
Day 2: Full Day Bangkok Tour
After breakfast on Day 2, stick around for a quick orientation/chat about your trip before hitting the streets of Bangkok! Today, you will experience some of the most famous sites of the capital including the Temple of Dawn, Wat Arun and the Giant Golden Reclining Buddha (Wat Pho) plus a quintessential trip on a classic long tailed boat ride.
Day 3: Transfer to Chiang Mai
Today you’ll get some free time, so enjoy a lay in, some breakfast and a relaxing morning.
Later in the day, you’ll jump aboard a VIP bus or train and travel unaccompanied for approx. 9 hours to Chiang Mai.
Don’t stress - this part of the trip is all organised by The Operator and their Bangkok team will ensure you make it to the bus or train station on time!
Please note: Check out of your room in Bangkok is by midday. Luggage can be stored safely at the hotel until the evening.
Day 4: Chiang Mai Elephant Home
Today, you’ll be picked up by bus or train and transferred to the Chiang Mai Elephant Home.
Part of an ethical and sustainable eco-tourism project, the experience is located in a village close to Chiang Mai surrounded by mountains and a national park nearby.
Activities you’ll participate in during your time in the home include: Walking with the elephants to the local river and helping bathe them, rafting on the local river, learning how to make elephant vitamin tablets, helping to plant / harvest crops for the elephants and feeding the elephants.
You’ll then be transferred back to your accommodation.
Accommodation: During your time in Chiang Mai you’ll enjoy a stay at the Muan Hostel in dorm-style rooms. Managed by locals & passionate hoteliers, the hostel features a hammock café and social area, a Thai restaurant and is located just opposite the Thapae Gate (Heritage site) and the famous Sunday walking street market!

Travelling is a huge contributor to global emissions and our current climate crisis. We need to protect our planet, the destinations we love to visit and combat climate change. It is important we all work towards lowering our carbon footprint home and abroad. However, the reality is when we travel we cannot avoid the ‘black stuff’. For what we cannot reduce we can offset. This is carbon neutral travel. Through Gold Standard we measure our trips footprint, reduce where possible and offset the balance.
