Why Do We Love This

The classic Road To Hana adventure starts at the famous northern route of the Hana Highway and returns back over the same road.

The town of Hana is on the east coast of Maui and is considered one of the last non-tourist towns on the island. Although Hana is a beautiful and unique town, the road to Hana is where you’ll experience one of Hawaii’s most famous drives. The drive is full of narrow roads and tight turns that give the drivers and passengers scenic views throughout the duration of the trip. Each jeep adventure has unique stops that will lead to some hidden gems.

The road to Hana is more than a scenic drive with views of beautiful coastline and jungle landscapes. It’s an adventure that takes you back in time through Maui’s tropical rainforest. A beloved and treasured gem, Hana is said to be one of the last unspoiled Hawaiian cities. This private tour in Maui takes you along the famous coastline road by jeep. The tour gives you the option to see a variety of stops, such as Ho’okipa, Ke'anae Penninsula, Pua’a Ka’a Falls, and, of course, Hana Town.

Black Sand Beach new reservation requirements: Wai’anapanapa State Park (aka black sand beach) recently instituted a new reservation system. The park admission fee ($25) is included in your selected tour. If you would like to visit the black sand beach, please list the first and last names for each member of your party.

Lunch is not included, but your driver will recommend the best places to eat and take you where you would like to go. Some of the favourites are Brudda Hutts, Huli Huli BBQ at Koki Beach, Hana Farms, The Rance Restaurant and Kilo's Food Truck.

All Hana Road adventures begin at 7am. This early start time allows us to get ahead of the crowds so you can enjoy the popular locations with as few people as possible. If 7am is too early for you, the tour can pick you up at a time that works best for you (no later than 9am).

What to Expect

  • Please be ready for your tour at least 10 minutes early.
  • The Pipiwai Trail/Seven Sacred Pools is located within the Haleakala National Park and the tour does not have a permit to enter the park. In addition, the trail to the red sand beach in Hana is dangerous and crosses private property. Hana residents have asked tour companies to not take visitors here and we have respected their wishes. As an alternative, the tour stops at Koki Beach at a designated area where there is red sand for the public to enjoy.

Rather than joining a loaded bus tour with strangers, your group is assigned your own tour guide for the entire day to do and experience whatever you’re interested in. Your tour guide is also your driver so you can enjoy the sights, sounds, and tastes at your own pace.

Chances are it will rain. We recommend you bring a rain jacket. The tour offers ponchos and umbrellas. If there are reports of mudslides, fallen trees, or road closures, they will cancel the adventure and give you a 100% refund.
