The Ultimate Guide to San Diego

Beaches

The most iconic and must-visit beach in San Diego is definitely La Jolla. It consists of multiple beaches that includes 300-foot cliffs, a mile long pristine beach, and a secluded cove surrounded by rocky points. The variety of La Jolla attracts all types of visitors: from surfers, kayakers, bodyboarders, even scuba divers! If you’re feeling like a relaxed beach day with gentle waves, the La Jolla Cove is for you. There’s a reason why this stretch of coast is called “The Jewel of San Diego”.

If you’re looking for the perfect beach to spend the day with your family, Coronado Beach is perfect for it. Known for its famous Hotel del Coronado that featured in one of Marylin Monroe’s 1958 films, this beach has gained popularity amongst locals and tourists. Take out your paddle board or learn how to boogie board with your family on this family-friendly beach. If you have pets, the Northern part of the beach is dog-friendly!

Experience the definition of SoCal laid back vibes in Ocean Beach. This vintage beach town is populated by a hip local community. You will find the locals skateboarding, surfing, and just enjoying their time with their fur babies. Get out on the jetty to watch the sunset over the pacific ocean, or get your hands on fishing in one of the only places you can fish without a license in the Ocean Beach Pier. Grab delicious fresh seafood and go shopping while you’re here.

Attractions

One only knows where to begin on must-visit San Diego attractions. Let’s start with the most popular one - San Diego Zoo. Located in a breathtaking 100-acre tropical garden, the zoo has over 3500 animals with around 600 of them being rare and exotic. With numerous bioclimatic experiences in the zoo, it is the perfect place to educate yourself and your family. Not to miss, San Diego Zoo has a Safari Park as well!

An even larger park, LEGOLAND California is something to squeeze in your itinerary if you have kids travelling with you. The park has over 60 interactive attractions, with lazy rivers where you can build your own boat! You also get to see aquatic life in their SEA LIFE or you can also stay in their LEGO-themed hotel!

Considering San Diego is a coastal city, visiting Seaworld San Diego is a must. Explore marine life from around the world, and watch spectacular shows from trained marine animals. There are even arctic animals including 6 types of penguin, beluga whales, otters, and walruses!
