Discover San Francisco's beautiful outdoors, diverse neighbourhoods, and rich history on a 4-hr city tour led by your local guide.
The tour begins with pickup from selected San Francisco hotels, with transport onboard an open-sided vehicle that sits a maximum of 12 guests. After that, you'll leave behind the large coaches and journey off the regular tourist path with a flexible itinerary that reflects the goings-on in the city.
Explore street-art alleys in the Mission, mosaic-decorated stairways in the Sunset, the laid-back outdoor vibe of the Presidio, and the Beaux-Arts beauty of City Hall. See the famous “Painted Ladies” at AlamoSquare, or even go down the actual crookedest street in San Francisco (it’s not Lombard Street!)
While your guide will tailor your adventure to what you and the rest of the small group are interested in and what unique things are happening that day, you'll still see key sights like the Golden Gate Bridge and Twin Peaks.
There'll also be a stop at an organic market where you can get lunch (not included) and do some local people watching.
The tour ends at Pier 33, where if you've chosen to include Alcatraz Island, you'll board the ferry for the next part of the adventure.
Once you arrive on the island, you'll be able to explore the windswept land and learn about its layered history through outdoor interpretive signs, a Discovery Guide island map, and exhibits.
You'll also access the Alcatraz Cellhouse with the award-winning audio commentary Doing Time: The Alcatraz Cellhouse Tour. Plus, enjoy admission to a new permanent exhibit,The Big Lockup: Mass Incarceration in the United States.
Once you've finished exploring the island at your leisure (most people take two to three hours), you can return on any of several ferries back to the City.
