  • On some days of the trip, you’ll spend many hours driving through very remote areas of Australia. Sit back and enjoy landscapes that you would miss in any other form of travel. The days can be long, but we want to fit as much of this amazing place in as we can in 6 short days!
  • Stay in comfortable beds every night of the trip, with hotel accommodation for three nights and a resort with shared facilities facilities for two nights.
  • Temperatures in the Top End can be extreme. During the day the weather can be very hot (and the Australian sun is very strong) so please bring appropriate clothing, use sun protection and drink plenty of water. In the evenings temperatures really drop so make sure you check the forecast and have a suitable sleeping bag and warm clothes for the climate.

The trip starts at 6pm on Day 1 at Darwin Travelodge.

You will return on Day 6 to the same hotel at approx. 6pm.  Please note accommodation is not booked for night 6

  • Lightweight clothing. You will need to bring a mixture of lightweight clothing and layers. Long shirts and pants are useful to protect against the harsh Australian sun. Clothes should be easy to wash and dry. Maybe bring a change of smart clothes for dinner in larger cities. Australia is pretty casual, shorts or a skirt and a top, with sandals, is our usual warm weather wardrobe.
  •  Comfortable, closed-in shoes. These will help to protect your feet from cuts and scratches when walking through bush/grasslands and will act as a protective barrier in the rare case of a bite or sting. A pair of sandals or thongs/flip flops are great for the beach.
  • -Sun protection. Wide-brimmed hat, sunscreen, sunglasses.

While travelling with us you'll experience the vast array of wonderful food available in the world. Your group leader will be able to suggest restaurants to try during your trip. To give you the maximum flexibility in deciding where, what and with whom to eat, only breakfasts are included in this tour price.

This also gives you more budgeting flexibility. As a rule, groups tend to eat together to enable you to taste a larger variety of dishes and enjoy each other's company. If you have dietary requirements and/or food allergies, please let The Operator know at the time of booking or prior to departure.

The beauty of our style of travel is that it caters to travellers who are travelling solo and who want to meet and share experiences with like-minded people.

Rooming is organised on a twin-share basis. We pair up solo travellers with another traveller of the same gender.

We also have an optional single supplement available on most trips for travellers who prefer to have their own room. This will apply to all nights on the tour.

All countries require a valid passport (with a minimum 6 months validity).

Contact your local embassy or consulate for the most up-to-date visa requirements, or see your travel agent.

It is your own responsibility to have the correct travel documentation. Visa requirements for your trip will vary depending on where you are from and where you are going.

Yes, travel insurance is compulsory on this trip.

When it comes to working out how much money you’ll need on this trip, every traveller is a little different.

You know your spending habits better than we do, so we recommend budgeting an appropriate amount for things like meals, drinks, shopping, optional activities, and laundry. Please read the itinerary and inclusions thoroughly so you know what is included in the trip price and what you may need to pay for while travelling.

You’ll need to budget for some meals throughout the trip. You can generally get a good takeaway or restaurant meal for around 20-35 AUD, however, there are always more expensive options. Alcohol can be quite expensive in Australia due to additional taxes, with a schooner or glass of wine costing around 9-12 AUD on average.

Tipping is not compulsory in Australia, but if you want to show your appreciation for good service, it is welcomed. If you choose to tip, the general rule is to add 10-15% of the bill. As well as your spending money, we recommend having a contingency fund of at least 500 USD in case of emergency.

You will be expected to carry your own luggage on this trip, so try to pack light. Most travellers find that a small, wheeled suitcase is the most suitable option for this adventure.

You can leave your luggage at the accommodation when you’re adventuring during the day, meaning the only thing you’ll need to bring with you on day trips is your day pack with your water bottle, camera, and any other essentials you may need.

The 5-night stay includes accommodation with some meals provided: 5 breakfasts and 3 lunches.
