Departure info:

We recommend arriving 20 minutes prior to departure to allow sufficient time to redeem your online ticket purchase. Boarding commences 10 - 15 minutes prior to departure.

 

The Breakwater Terminal is open 7 days a week from 6am - 6pm.

 

The Nelly Bay Terminal is open 7 days a week from 8:20am - 4:25pm.

Frequently Asked Questions

There is car parking available at the Breakwater Terminal starting from $9.00 per day for a standard vehicle.

The car park has adequate lighting but is not fenced. Vehicles are left at their own risk.

Secure lock up parking is available at Metro Quays Car Park in Ogden St.

Sunbus conduct services from the city mall directly to our terminal which meet every day-time ferry.

There are storage lockers (82.5cm long, 50cm wide, 60cm high) available for hire within the Breakwater Terminal. These lockers are only accessible between opening hours. Large lockers are $8 per 24hrs.

Yes. Dogs must be muzzled and on a leash in the terminals and on board the vessels, or in a pet carrier.

Animals are not allowed on seats and must not obstruct passageways.

Assistance and service animals are exempt from muzzling, containment and seating restrictions.

Yes! The supplier has taken all reasonable steps to ensure safe access to their vessels for customers who require wheelchair access.

All vessel gangways operating ferry services are a minimum of 890mm wide to allow access to most types of wheelchairs. Please note that all Cruise Ship Transfer gangways and some Charter gangways may not be wheelchair accessible (ie: 750 mm wide).

Disability toilets are located in both the Breakwater Ferry Terminal in Townsville and Nelly Bay Ferry Terminal on Magnetic Island.

No. Passengers are responsible for managing their own luggage within the terminal. Passengers requiring assistance with boarding and/or disembarking the ferry should seek assistance from a crew member when boarding commences

Please note the following:

  • Trolleys are not available for hire or loan
  • Backpacks are to be carried on by the passenger and stowed in the luggage area as per directions from crew
  • All luggage is to be stowed in accordance with crew's directions and should not restrict access to safety equipment or block aisles or emergency exits
  • SeaLink cannot store any luggage at any time at Breakwater or Nelly Bay Terminals. Coin operated luggage lockers are located in the Breakwater Terminal and accessible during Terminal operation hours
  • SeaLink takes no responsibility for any loss or damage to luggage in terminals or on-board the ferries
  • SeaLink reserves the right to refuse to carry luggage that does not comply with our Luggage Policy or Dangerous Goods Code and the vessel's Master has the final decision

Terms & Conditions:

  • Tickets are non-transferrable and non-refundable.

  • ID must be presented to staff to be eligible to receive Australian concession or Australian student rates, otherwise a full fare applies.

  • Lost tickets will not be reissued, including ferry and parking tickets.

  • Damaged or faded multiple trip tickets can only be reissued if the original is surrendered and the expiration date and number of trips remaining are still legible.

  • Multiple trip tickets will not be extended if circumstances are beyond the supplier's control, including but not limited to weather conditions, result in scheduled services being reduced or cancelled.

  • The supplier is not a common carrier and reserves the rights to refuse to carry any passenger, baggage or goods at its discretion.

  • As a passenger, you agree that you will accept the delivery of services from the supplier at your own risk. The supplier will not be liable for any loss or damage, howsoever or whatsoever caused, as a consequence or arising, indirectly or directly, out of the provisions of services to a passenger, including, loss and/or damage occasioned by the supplier and/or its agents and/or its employees negligence.

  • Ferry tickets are non-refundable and non-replaceable and staff reserve the right to refuse travel to any passenger with an invalid or illegible ticket.

Cancellation Policy:

  • Cancellation of a booking of part thereof will incur the following fees:

-   More than 30 days before departure – 10% of total cost
-   Between 7 and 30 days before departure - 50% of total cost
-   Less than 7 days before departure - 80% of total cost
-   Within 24 hours of departure - 100% of total cost

  • If a scheduled ferry service in cancelled by the operator due to inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances a transfer to another service or full refund will be offered.

  • A ‘no show’ will incur 100% penalty. No refunds are given on unused ferry tickets.

    • No refunds will be made for services not availed once travel has commenced. All refund claims must be made in writing. Please note the operator reserve the right to charge cancellation fees in addition to the above.
