<p>Please be sure to arrive 1 day before your tour is due to depart. This will avoid any unforeseen problems.</p>

<p>Meals listed on the itinerary are included. Vegetarians can be catered for and we do our best to offer a varied menu. Our guides can produce miracles on a camp-stove but please remember that they are cooking for the whole group on two gas burners. Special dietary requirements can be catered for, but only by special request. In East Africa it is more difficult to cater to certain requirements.</p>

<p>On our camping tours you will be staying in two-man dome tents. We supply a mattress and you supply your own sleeping bag.<br />
The accommodated tours stay in traditional huts, permanent tented camps and hotel rooms, the majority of these are ensuite.</p>

<p>Please ensure you have the relevant vaccinations. Proof of inoculation is required on certain tours.</p>

Then, head off to <strong>Maun in Botswana</strong> to prepare for your&nbsp;<strong>Okavango Delta experience</strong>. Exploring this incredible area is a must for any tourist. Oh, and don&rsquo;t forget to photograph hippos and crocodiles from your Mokoro (dugout canoe) as you go!<br />

Leaving behind the city of <strong>Johannesburg</strong>, we travel through the <strong>North-West Province</strong> to the Botswana border. After completing border formalities we continue on the <strong>Trans-Kalahari highway</strong> to our overnight stop.</p>

<div style="text-align: justify;">After breakfast, venture deeper into the <strong>Central Kalahari </strong>and our camp in the Ghanzi district, here we will spend time getting to know the fascinating San people. After lunch we will join our San guides for a guided walk that will introduce us to the many secrets of their survival in the <strong>Kalahari Deser</strong>t. The nomadic San are hunter-gatherers that have passed down a rich knowledge of the plants and animals that play such an important part in their lifestyle. This evening we will get a first-hand experience of the San culture, well known for its rich traditions of song, dance, and story-telling.</div>

Your guides will brief you this evening on what you will need for the upcoming<strong> Delta Excursions</strong>, please note that baggage restrictions apply for transfers to our camps so a small daypack or similar is advisable.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">This morning we embark on our exploration of the<strong> Okavango Delta</strong>, one of Africa&rsquo;s great wilderness areas. This unique and unusual ecosystem sees the annual flood waters of the Okavango River fan out into the sands of the<strong> Kalahari Basin</strong>. The seasonality of the flood waters lends the Delta its ever-changing character. While water levels may fluctuate the tranquillity of this wilderness area remains constant.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">This morning, you&#39;ll be collected from the hotel before first light and&nbsp;drive to the South gate to enter<strong> Moremi Game Reserve</strong>. As the lagoons and channels form a vital section of the <strong>Okavango Delta eco-system</strong>, sightings of bird and animal populations become more frequent as the day progresses. The game viewing routes chosen on the day by the professional guide may vary especially when high floods are experienced as certain roads may be closed or impassable.&nbsp;</div>

While we will pause to experience a finger of the pan on our journey from Maun, those who would like to can join an optional excursion to the Pans this afternoon.</div>

This afternoon is set aside for exploring the Chobe National Park. We begin our exploration in 4&times;4 vehicles, which allows us an up close and personal experience with the many elephants that frequent the river in the afternoons. The afternoon ends with a leisurely boat cruise and a meal served around the campfire.</div>

Today we visit the spectacular Victoria Falls, also known by the local name of<strong> &ldquo;Mosi-</strong><strong>oa</strong><strong> Tunya&rdquo;</strong> (the smoke that thunders). While much of today is dedicated to viewing the mighty Zambezi River as it drops into the Batoka Gorge below, the bustling adventure town of Victoria Falls also offers a range of optional activities for those wanting a dose of adrenaline in the afternoon. For the more relaxed traveller there are craft markets to explore and a delicious high tea is on offer at the Victoria Falls Hotel. Tonight we enjoy an optional dinner out, your guide will assist you to decide on the many options available.</div>
