WHAT TO EXPECT
Down Under Cruise and Dive is located in Australia's far tropical north Queensland in the township of Cairns, the gateway to the World Heritage-listed Great Barrier Reef and Daintree National Parks.
The 35-meter superyacht, EVOLUTION, departs Cairns daily offering a fast, comfortable, and affordable cruise for a fun-filled day of adventure on the Great Barrier Reef. During the cruise you will visit two spectacular Outer Great Barrier Reef Locations with 5 hours to snorkel, scuba dive, sunbathe and relax! This large modern vessel provides a superior ride in all weather conditions to protected reef locations. Professional, friendly, and attentive staff ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.
Locations are chosen each day based on weather conditions, water clarity and for their variety to provide the best experience for both beginners, experienced snorkellers and divers and children of all ages. Generally, we travel to one of our two outer reef locations in the morning (Norman Reef or Saxon Reef) then make our way to North Hastings Reef in the afternoon to conduct helicopter flights and our semi-submersible tour.
Our crew keep a constant watch over the snorkelling sites making sure all passengers can enjoy the amazing wildlife in perfect safety. Our snorkel supervisors are all experienced dive-masters and provide in-depth briefings on safety procedures and site orientation, so you know where to find all the 'cool stuff'.
Our crew prepare a hot and cold lunch served on board with fresh fish, steak, prawns, vegetarian options, and a variety of salads (GF and Vegan options available).
At the second reef location, you can snorkel or dive again, laze around on our massive sun-deck, or join our semi-submersible coral viewing tour to view all the amazing coral and marine life from a dry seat (weather dependent and additional cost, choose this option when booking). Note: due to COVID-19 the semi-submersible is currently not operational.
Upon request and availability, there is also the option to dial up the adventure and see the reef from above with a helicopter scenic tour over the Great Barrier Reef for an additional $194 per person.
Finally, as you cruise back to Cairns, you can sit back and relax with a complimentary glass of wine and a snack as well as purchase additional snacks and beverages from our onboard bar to cheers to an amazing adventure on the Great Barrier Reef.
