What to Expect
Tick off all of Tropical North Queensland's natural highlights, including the Daintree Rainforest, Cape Tribulation, Mossman Gorge and Port Douglas, on this full-day premium tour. See lush tropical rainforest, cascading rivers and the iconic Cape Tribulation beach, the only place on earth where two natural World Heritage-listed sites – the Great Barrier Reef and Wet Tropics Rainforest – exist side by side.
The adventure starts with pick-ups from selected hotels in Cairns, the northern beaches and Port Douglas. Guests travelling from Cairns and the Northern beaches will journey along the scenic Great Barrier Reef Drive, stopping to admire the views of the Coral Sea from Rex Lookout.
On arrival in Port Douglas, you'll collect any additional guests before stopping at Flagstaff Hill, which overlooks 4 Mile Beach. It makes for a great photo opportunity.
Moving away from the coast, the next stop is Mossman Gorge, where you'll refresh with local tea, coffee or a cold drink before exploring this secluded gorge and rainforest paradise. Mossman River's cool, clear waters tumble through and over giant granite boulders. Take a guided walk and enjoy the opportunity for a swim.
You'll then enjoy a quality restaurant lunch, with a choice of meals available, before stepping aboard a solar-powered electric boat to take a 1 hr cruise on the Daintree River. Keep your eyes peeled for crocodiles and other local wildlife.
Driving on to the Daintree River Cable Crossing, it’s a short ride over and into the ancient Daintree Rainforest. Alexandra Lookout provides panoramic views over the Daintree delta, river, and the Coral Sea, so don't forget your camera!
You'll then wander beneath the ancient rainforest trees on a guided botanical walk, learning more about the biodiversity of the fantastic ecosystem.
Finally, the most northern point of your adventure is Cape Tribulation, where the rainforest meets the reef. Take it all in from the Kulki Lookout.
Heading back south, you'll stop in at the Daintree Ice-Cream Company, where you can purchase locally made tropical ice cream (own expense). The tour returns to Port Douglas around 5:30 pm and Cairns around 6:30 pm.
