Itinerary:
Start your day with an unforgettable flight from Queenstown to Milford Sound. This is the best way to catch views of this unspoilt, natural realm. Fly above the rugged backcountry of Central Otago, before heading westward to where the glacial-fed rivers empty into Lake Wakatipu. As you cross over into the Fiordland National Park, you’ll discover an untouched world of peaks and valleys where mountains reach into the sea.
There are tons of exquisite landscapes to take in, and depending on your flight route for the day, you'll also see Glenorchy, Mt Earnslaw, Mt Tutoko, Mitre Peak and Arthur Valley. There's also the possibility of seeing Sutherland Falls, the Milford Track, Eglinton Valley and Greenstone Valley from the sky!
After your time in the air, you'll land in Milford Sound where you'll jump aboard the purpose-built small boat and head off to explore the famous fiord. On your two-hour journey, you'll see cascading waterfalls, immense rock faces and unique wildlife. Voyage out past St Anne's Lighthouse to the Tasman Sea while listening to the informative commentary. Your skipper will point out all the highlights, including Bowen Falls, Lion Mountain, Copper Point, Seal Rock and Stirling Falls. There are complimentary tea, coffee and water on-board to enjoy as you listen.
Next, it's time to complete your Milford Sound journey with a helicopter flight back to Queenstown. This even includes an exclusive alpine snow landing! It really is the ultimate Fiordland experience.
