WHAT TO EXPECT
Fly through the treetops and find your wings in Queenstown! Pack the thrills into just one hour with this epic zip line tour. Situated amongst most beautiful and spectacular scenery that Queenstown has to offer, this is an activity for everyone.
If you're staying in Queenstown city, it's just a short walk from the city centre to start your zip line adventure. Situated on the iconic Gondola Hill in Queenstown, you'll be able to catch some amazing views of the city while you zoom through the trees.
Check-in for your Ziptrek tour at the Ziptrek Treehouse located at the top of Bobs Peak. You can take the gondola up for some extra in-air action! (allow 60 - 90 minutes for the Gondola ride during peak time due to the queues. 40 - 60 minutes out of peak season.)
If you fancy more of a workout, take the adventurous Tiki Walking Trail from the bottom of the Gondola to the top (please allow at least 1 hour, longer if travelling with children).
On this adventure, you'll get to experience two breathtaking zip lines that are sure to get your heart racing. The ziplines are gravity fed, so you don't have to worry about controlling your speed. You'll also be fitted with a climbing harness and helmet.
After you've finished soaring through the trees, finish with an incredible 21-metre drop from the treehouse to the forest floor!
You'll then get to enjoy a relaxed 10-minute walk along Queenstown's iconic Tiki Trail.
Zip trekking is a must-do in New Zealand. It's the perfect way to catch some great views and get your heart racing at the same time.
This is a one hour tour. Start times are 11 am 1 pm and 3 pm. Tours are held in groups of 8 and are fully guided.

How many participants are there?

Where are you located?
Ziptrek's Guest Services Tree-house is situated just past the Helipad, 100 metres to the left of the Skyline Gondola Upper Terminal, at the edge of the treeline.
Is the gondola ticket included in the cost?
The Skyline Gondola pass is not included and can be purchased directly from the Skyline terminal building on the day of your tour.
What if the weather is bad?
Ziptrek tours run in all weather conditions. Keep in mind you are entering a mixed alpine forest and whilst it does rain or snow, you are provided with some level of shelter through the tree canopy. We also provide wet weather jackets and hats and gloves, if required.
What are the age and weight restrictions?
The minimum age to participate in a Ziptrek tour is 6 years of age.
The minimum weight limit to participate in a Ziptrek Ecotour is 30kg (65lbs)
Guests under 30kg (65lbs) may zip tandem with a guide on the Moa 4-Line tour only.
The maximum weight of a guest is 125kg (275lbs)
Children (6-14yrs) must be accompanied on tour by a parent of guardian (someone at least 15 years of age).
Can I do this tour if I am pregnant?
Pregnant guests may not participate in Ziptrek tours for their own safety and the safety of their unborn child.
Can I bring my camera?
Yes, if you have a camera or small video recording device you can bring it with you. We recommend they have a wrist or neck strap so that you can attach it to yourself when zipping.
Can I bring a backpack?
You will not be able to bring a backpack or any other baggage on tour with you. You will be wearing a full body harness and backpacks will interfere with this harness. We recommend you leave your personal belongings at your hotel or at our camp street booking office in town. A small item storage however is available at the Tree-house.
What should I wear or bring?
As it is a few degrees cooler in the forest, we recommend that you dress with warm layers and for the conditions of the day. During the winter months, gloves, hats and warm coats are recommended.
Closed toe footwear is essential on both tours.
If you have a camera or small video recording device you can bring it with you.
How do I stop?
Ziptrek has an internationally patented braking system. We can safely stop riders no matter what the wind conditions, bringing them to a smooth and controlled stop before each treetop platform.
Is this tour suitable for children?
The tours are suitable for all the family and for children aged 6 years or older.
Children (6-14yrs) must be accompanied on tour by a parent or guardian (someone at least 15 years of age).
Youth aged 14 or under MUST be accompanied by a paying adult (15+) whilst on tour. Those 17 years and under must have a waiver signed by a parent or guardian who is aged 18+.
Ziptrek is an outdoor adventure activity and operates in all weather conditions and sheltered platforms minimise exposure to the elements

Tours include stair climbing and trail walking. Guests must be able to walk unassisted
Guests are required to wear sensible closed toed footwear and wear extra layers as it is cooler in the forest canopy.
