WHAT TO EXPECT
This epic kayak trip is one incredible adventure! Plenty of paddling and waterfall action, this tour is one you'll never forget.
Departs daily at 10.00 am (year-round) and 2.00 pm (November - March) from the Waitangi Beach Base.
Start the day with complimentary pick up from local accommodation. You'll meet your fellow kayakers and head to the mouth of the Waitangi Inlet, where you're journey begins! Choose your kayaks, listen to a brief safety briefing and then get paddling!
You'll travel from Waitangi Inlet up to the base of the wondrous Haruru Waterfall. Enjoy playing the spray of this unique horseshoe-shaped waterfall while your guide snaps your photo!
Afterwards, stop and enjoy some refreshments with a view of the Falls.
As you make your way back to the Beach Base, you cruise by enchanting mangrove forests and will be able to watch some interesting and diverse wildlife in their natural habitat. Please note paddling inside the Mangrove Forest is tide dependent.
Your guide will share stories about the rich local history and Maori legends as you paddle. They'll also be taking photos of your experience, which will be available online in high resolution for you to download.
This tour takes approximately 3 hours and is suitable for beginners to experienced paddlers.
