WHAT TO EXPECT
Experience what life is like on a working farm in New Zealand with this guided tour of Walter Peak High Country Farm. The farm, which is located outside of Queenstown, is the perfect escape from the city for a day.
Tours depart from Queenstown Bay and will transfer you to and from the farm via a vintage steamship TSS Earnslaw. There is a licensed cafe on board the TSS Earnslaw in case you're in need of any refreshments along the way.
Once at the farm, you will have the chance to feed and interact with the sheep, cows, dogs, alpacas and even deer that live there. Visitors of all ages will love the chance to observe sheepdogs working and watch a live sheep-shearing demonstration. You will also have plenty of time to explore the grounds, which include a lakeside garden and plenty of sunny courtyards.
Once you get peckish, enjoy a morning or afternoon tea of freshly-baked scones, cakes and slices made right at the farm. There is also a gift shop if you'd like to take home a souvenir from your visit.
After some more time around the farm, it's time to return to Queenstown via the steamship. Tours run daily and depart at 10 am, 12 pm and 2 pm (plus 4 pm from 22 Jan - 2 Feb).
