Group Surf Lesson Raglan Beach
Learn how to surf at one of the best spots in New Zealand! What's Included
What to Expect
This group lesson is a great introduction to surfing!
After meeting at the main Ngarunui Beach, experienced surf instructors will provide you with equipment fitting and safety instruction. You’ll learn the basics of surfing, plus surfboard vocabulary, stance, posture, and water and beach safety briefing. You’ll get custom fitted for a wetsuit and surfboard at the trailer located on Ngarunui Beach (not carrying your equipment up & down the steep beach walkway is a bonus!).
Then you’ll be fully prepared before you hit the surf! After a quick regroup on the sand, your instructor will head into the water with the group to make sure you're all ready to ride the waves. Your instructor will help you choose a wave, line your board up, and push you into the perfect ride! The goal is to have you paddling into waves yourself by the end of the lesson!
Learning to surf is an unforgettable experience, and Raglan is one of the world's greatest surf destinations in New Zealand! From Te Kopua in town to Ruapuke on the other side of Mount Karioi, Raglan hides plenty of surfing spots — but Ngarunui is the best place to surf as it is one of the most consistent spots with epic banks.
