This trip starts in Manila and ends in El Nido. If you arrive at the airport before 3 pm, your guide will meet you there. On the first night of your tour, you will stay at the award-winning Z Hostel in Makati.

A lot of the people travelling on this tour are single travellers, so it’s a great way to meet new people. Solo travellers on this tour can request the Single Upgrade option at the time of booking if they would prefer to have their own room rather than share a Twin/Double room with another solo traveller.

This tour has an age of 18 - 45 years old, with most guests sitting between 21 and 35 years old. This tour is perfect for people of all different backgrounds who want to share travel experiences with like-minded conscious fellow travellers. Participants will need a reasonable level of fitness, as this tour is quite adventurous and involves some walking.

The Philippines requires all international travellers to have a valid passport (with a minimum 6 months validity).

We recommend contacting your local embassy or consulate for the most up-to-date visa requirements or see your travel agent. It is your own responsibility to have the correct travel documentation. Visa requirements for your trip will vary depending on where you are from and where you are going.

Yes, travel insurance is compulsory on this trip. If you do not have travel insurance when you arrive on your tour you will not be able to continue without purchasing it.

We recommend a minimum of $300 AUD for the full ten days, but it depends on what kind of spender you are. The tour operator will include a spending guide in your welcome pack to help you navigate the costs. You can withdraw from ATMs at various points throughout the tour, but we recommend withdrawing plenty of cash in Manila since you cannot rely on the ATMs in Palawan.

We recommend packing comfortable clothing suitable for the weather, as well as the following essentials:

  • Reusable water bottle
  • Toiletries and towel
  • Swimmers
  • Sunglasses & sunscreen
  • Windproof rain jacket
  • Sandals & trainers/running shoes
  • Binoculars (optional)
  • Camera (With extra memory cards and batteries)
  • Cash, credit and debit cards
  • Day pack (Used for daily excursions or short overnights)
  • Ear plugs

Please note that this tour has a 20kg limit on checked luggage on the domestic flight from Manila to Palawan. If you need to add extra at the airport you can do so but it can be very costly. We would recommend bringing a suitcase or backpack that weighs under 20kg.

The tour operator has handpicked accommodations throughout the Philippines which fit with the vibe of the trip and your fellow travellers. They only put guests in places that they have personally stayed in and loved! This is why when you stay in hostels, these are no ordinary hostels — no 8-bed dorms with old creaky beds in sight!

You will find large comfy beds, spotless and stylish interiors, aircon, personal lights and sockets to charge your devices. These are boutique hostels with a maximum of 4 per room (single upgrades available), plus camping on a secluded beach!
