- Your own watercolour to take home
Learn the delicate and beautiful art of watercolour painting at this class with a master watercolour artist. Unleash your creative powers and learn how elegant brushstrokes are made on paper to create beautiful designs. Meet with local artisans as you learn this art, and visit a traditional Vietnamese house which is also the home of the artist.
Create your own stunning watercolour painting as a souvenir of your trip to Vietnam, and also learn the art of Vietnamese calligraphy at the same time during the same session. Whether you are a beginner or an art enthusiast, this class will help you tap into your undiscovered potential.
Uncover areas of Hanoi that most tourists here miss and engage with locals living and working in this part of the city, all while learning an ancient handicraft at the same time.
You will start the class by being introduced to the artist, Mr Linh, who lives in his studio in a little alley that is well out of sight of the main tourist areas of Hanoi.
Mr Linh is a local artist with over 8 years of experience in teaching watercolour painting and calligraphy, and as such is an expert teacher who will patiently guide you through the process of creating your own masterpiece.
If you are a complete beginner at watercolour painting, then don’t worry as the class will go as fast or as slow as you like, and if you are something of an art fiend then you can speed up to create several paintings during the session. The class aims to teach you the techniques of watercolour painting and Vietnamese calligraphy as well as offer a relaxing time with a local teacher.
As the studio also doubles as the artist’s home, you can expect to meet some of his pets during the session such as his turtle and snail, and as he shares the space with several other locals you never know who else will drop by as part of the experience.
At the end of the session, you will be able to take home your own work of art as a souvenir of your trip here or simply as a present for a loved one. Should you wish to spend longer learning different techniques or having multiple sessions, then you can select these as add-ons to the class.
For anyone who wants to learn a new skill while also getting a glimpse behind the scenes at how local Hanoians live and work, this is definitely a class that it not to be missed.
