This trip starts in Alice Springs at 6 am and finishes in Darwin City. Please indicate your chosen Alice Springs accommodation at the time of booking to arrange a pick-up service.

This tour is a great opportunity to share with other like-minded solo travellers. If you’re travelling alone, you will be paired with other travellers for the nights you’ll stay in dorm-style accommodation.

If you love camping, being in the great outdoors, and exploring with other enthusiastic adventurers, then this is the tour for you. You’ll also need a reasonable level of fitness and a true sense of adventure for this tour!

Australia requires all overseas travellers to present a valid passport (with a minimum of 6 months validity) upon arrival in the country.

It is your own responsibility to have the correct travel documentation. Visa requirements for your trip will vary depending on where you are from and where you are going.

We strongly recommend getting travel insurance for this trip. While Mulgas Adventures has a great track record for carrying out their adventures without complications, you can’t predict the future, and it’s better to be safe than sorry!

Every traveller is different and therefore spending money requirements will vary. Some travellers may drink more than others while other travellers like to purchase more souvenirs than most. Accommodation and most meals are included on this tour, but please consider your own spending habits when it comes to allowing for drinks, additional meals, and tipping. 

We recommend bringing the following essential items for this trip:

• Water Bottles (enough to carry 3L)
• Hat (fits well for windy places)
• Walking Shoes (properly fitting for walks on terrain)
• Swimwear (for the summer)
• Towel (works as a rug on the sand too)
• Small Carry Bag (otherwise several more hands)
• Toiletries (you decide, remember Less is More)
• Sleeping Bag (required, can be hired for $30)
• Camera (some passengers ask their group to share theirs)
• Insect Repellent (including Fly Nets)
• Warm clothes (desert nights can get very cold)
• Pillow (or improvise, like roll up a jumper)

We recommend packing light as you’ll need to carry your own luggage from destination to destination. A large trekking backpack is ideal. Please keep this in mind, and plan ahead as best you can. The less you bring with you, the happier you will be!

This tour is a combination of camping and dorm-style accommodation. The nights can get pretty cold when camping, so we suggest bringing a good sleeping bag and some warm pyjamas!
