Explore Mount Lofty, the Cleland Wildlife Park, and Adelaide on an intriguing mountain bike trip!
Around 9 am, the crew will pick you up from your accommodation in Adelaide, and take you to the top of Mount Lofty with the Escapegoat bus. Mount Lofty (710 metres) is the highest summit in the Lofty Mountain Ranges and offers stellar views over Adelaide and the ocean.
Once you’ve reached the highest point of the mountain, it’s time to take some photos of the spectacular scenery, gear up, and adjust the mountain bike to your preferences. Now, the 18-kilometre bike ride can begin!
You’ll start the descent with a quick ride to Cleland Wildlife Park. This reserve is home to animals endemic to Australia, including kangaroos, emus, koalas, and wombats. You’ll have a chance to observe, feed, and even pat some of the animals. Cleland Wildlife Park is also an excellent location for a break with coffee, tea, and snacks.
You continue the route downhill with a stunning ride through the Cleland Conservation Park, where you’ll be racing between rock formations and forests. There will be both hilly and flat sections, which makes for a great variety and heaps of fun. Cleland Conservation Park is home to numerous koalas, so sightings are guaranteed along the way to Adelaide.
Halfway through the ride, you’ll arrive in Adelaide’s suburbs, where gorgeous colonial houses and parks await. The trip ends around 1 pm at Victoria Park, where you can enjoy the views of Mount Lofty in the distance and say goodbye to the group after an unforgettable bike ride.
This tour is suitable for competent cyclists and people who have a beginner level mountain biking ability.
