WHAT TO EXPECT
Bike through the endless vineyards of McLaren Vale, sip on local wines, and feast on local delicacies on this fun bike journey!
The day starts around 9 am in Adelaide, where you’ll be picked up by the tour operator’s crew. The drop-off will be in Willunga Hill, where you’ll be handed your companions for the days: a bike and helmet. After your bike has been adjusted to your needs, it’s time to hit the road on a section of the famous Kidman Trail.
From the highest point of the tour, you’ll be cruising down leisurely, with the wondrous Kuitpo Forest as a first stop. Enjoy the scenery, as you paddle between the pine trees, and through the vineyards afterwards. The forests and open fields are excellent locations to spot some of the local wildlife, such as kangaroos and koalas.
The tour includes a stop at two or more wineries, where you can taste the local wines and buy a bottle or two to bring home.
Take a break from cycling and sit down for a splendid lunch that consists of locally produced cheeses and meats. To wash it all down, you can opt to have some more local wine.
Depending on the preferences of your tour group, you’ll stop by a micro-brewery, a cafe to finish the meal off with a dessert, or other wineries.
Around 5 pm - after a fun day full of wine and beautiful vistas - you’ll return the mountain bike and sit down for the scenic ride back to the centre of Adelaide.
