All of the&nbsp;reef sites offer great ecological diversity and an abundance of marine life. Some of the commonly seen marine life includes turtles, anemonefish (Nemo), lionfish, cuttlefish, moray eels and reef sharks.

Lycra suits are available on board to reduce the possibility of stings and irritations while also offering protection from the sun.

At certain times of the year (generally November &ndash; April), jellyfish, commonly called marine stingers, can affect the seas of Northern Australia. Most jellyfish are harmless to people, however certain varieties may cause a serious reaction. Incidents involving serious marine stings in this area are extremely rare. The crew are conscious of the danger of marine stingers and will take appropriate steps to ensure your protection if they believe conditions are such that there is a possibility of encountering these creatures.

Hopefully not. Silversonic has state-of-the-art ride control systems to ensure a smoother journey. Where there is motion, however, whether in a car, bus, plane or boat, some people will suffer from motion sickness. Motion sickness medication is available onboard for purchase. Ginger tablets are available free onboard as a natural alternative.

Yes, any age is welcome accompanied by an adult, however, The Operator highly recommends that children be confident in the water. Babysitting facilities are not available onboard. The minimum age for scuba diving is 12 yrs.

Depending on the sites visited and conditions of the day, the reef sites offer a range of dive types including drift, wall, bommie, pinnacle, ledge and swim-throughs.

The dives are approximately 12 to 18 metres in depth. The Great Barrier Reef is generally not a deep dive destination, more shallow diving. As coral relies on sunlight for growth, some of the best snorkelling and diving can be done in shallow areas around the reef top.

Yes. The Operator accepts most certification cards including PADI, Naui and SSI. If you forget your card, evidence of certification may be provided by a logbook or verification letter from your certifying dive company. The Operator can provide assistance if you are PADI affiliated.

If you do not have a chance to do a refresher before travelling, you can participate in the first introductory dive of the day and if comfortable then participate in the 2nd and 3rd certified dive.

Certified divers can do up to 3 certified dives during the day. Introductory divers can do 2 dives.

If only one dive is undertaken then a minimum of 12 hours is recommended before flying (to an altitude of 300 metres or greater). If doing multiple dives, an interval of 24 hours is recommended. Other activities to avoid in this period are sky diving, hot air ballooning and going to Kuranda.

As a certified diver, you can enjoy up to three spectacular dives, experiencing three different Great Barrier Reef environments. With the most extensive range of dive sites to visit daily, divers of all levels, from novice to experienced, will be excited by the range of experiences the magnificent sites present, including drift and wall dives, bommie and pinnacle, coral gardens and swim-throughs.

The professional instructors accompany all dives at no extra charge, ensuring maximum safety and enjoyment. In addition, they have intimate local knowledge of the reef systems we visit and are passionate about sharing this! Certified dives last approximately 40 minutes or more, and as a certified diver, you&#39;ll need to present proof of certification.

The Great Barrier Reef is an iconic destination and is a diver&#39;s dream. The warm waters of the Great Barrier Reef, with temperatures ranging from 22-29 Celsius (75-85 Fahrenheit), makes for comfortable scuba diving all year round. The reef&#39;s&nbsp;ecosystem also supports the greatest concentration of life on this planet, including 1,500 species of fish, 400 different kinds of corals, 4000 species of molluscs and 10,000 species of sponges.

In between water activities, relax on the sundecks or in the air-conditioned lounges, and of course, enjoy a delicious hot and cold buffet&nbsp;lunch for hungry adventurers! Silversonic visits a selection of over 35 stunning &amp; exclusive World Heritage reef sites at the Agincourt reefs at the very outer edge of the Great Barrier Reef. Here, special reefs known as &#39;ribbons&#39; run parallel to the Continental Shelf. Adjacent to the Coral Sea trench, these ribbon reefs are recognised as the most pristine ecosystems in the reef&#39;s environment. Clear water provides the best possible underwater visibility, encourages rich coral growth and supports spectacular marine life.

<h4>Conditions of Carriage</h4>

A ticket is issued by The Operator (hereinafter called &ldquo;the company&rdquo;) and accepted by the passenger subject to the following terms and conditions:

	<li>The ticket entitles the passenger to transportation as indicated on the face hereof (hereinafter called &lsquo;the service&rsquo;) subject to the terms and conditions hereinafter appearing.</li>
	<li>The company reserves the right to cancel or vary the service in any way whatsoever without any liability to the passenger.</li>
	<li>This ticket is not transferable and must be presented to the company to enable the passenger to travel on the service.</li>
	<li>The company is not a common carrier and reserves the right at its own discretion to refuse to carry any passenger or goods without assigning any reason.</li>
	<li>The passenger shall not take onto the vessel or include in his/her luggage any explosives, volatile spirits, corrosives, any easily ignitable article or offensive thing likely to cause inconvenience to other passengers or to endanger the vessel, other passengers or goods. The passenger indemnifies the company for any loss and damage caused by or arising from the carriage of the passenger&#39;s goods.</li>
	<li>The company accepts no responsibility for loss, damage or injury to luggage or loss, damage or injury to the passenger arising out of or in any way incidental or connected to the service or the accommodation of the passenger or the transfer of any luggage between the vehicle and/or the vessel and/or any place of accommodation by events which are beyond our control or which are not preventable by reasonable diligence on our part.</li>
	<li>The passenger shall comply with the instructions of the company&rsquo;s servants and agents concerning all matters connected with the service and shall comply with any notice exhibited on the vessel.</li>
	<li>The passenger whilst on the vessel shall not consume any intoxicating beverage unless it has been supplied to him/her on board by servants of the company.</li>
	<li>The company shall not be liable for any loss, damage or injury which may arise or be alleged to arise in the event of the cancellation of the service or the abandonment of the service during the course thereof (should the company or any of its servants or agents in their absolute discretion decide that such abandonment is necessary) or of any deviation or delay in the service arising from any cause whatsoever. In any such event the company shall not be liable in any way for the cost of any accommodation or for any alternative means of travel which may arise and any additional expense so arising shall be the sole liability and responsibility of the passenger.</li>
	<li>The company may arrange for any other person to undertake the service and such person shall be entitled to the benefit of these conditions to the same extent as the company as if such person were a party to this contract.</li>
	<li>The company reserves the right, in the event of a ticket or booking being cancelled by the passenger, to charge cancellation fees in accordance with the company&rsquo;s current scale of refunds.</li>
	<li>This contract is subject to and shall be construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Queensland and the passenger agrees to submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts of the State.&nbsp;</li>
	<li>These conditions of carriage shall be read and construed subject to the&nbsp;Competition and Consumer Act&nbsp;2010 (Commonwealth) and any amending legislation.</li>

Diving &amp; Snorkelling

Certain medical conditions and medications may preclude some people from diving. For advice contact the office. Minimum age for diving is 12 years. The Operator recommends a wait of 12 hours but preferably 24 hours, if doing multiple dives, before ascending to an altitude of 300 metres or greater. Snorkelling can be a strenuous activity. Please use caution and inform our crew of any medical conditions.

Providing we have availability you are welcome to change dates, or in the worst case scenario, cancel.
