Frequently Asked Questions

Are meals included?

All tours are self-catering in nature; there are plenty of food-stops where you can purchase from restaurants, cafes, take-aways or even supermarkets should you wish to use the hostel’s kitchen facilities.  Some tours include samplings of local foods as per the itinerary.

Guides can give you recommendations to help you try the great food Tasmania has to offer.

A range of accommodation options are available to suit your budget!

Comfort Plus Single, Double/Twin*: This is the highest level of accommodation offered for those seeking maximum comfort. Twin/double or single rooms are available. These book out quickly so secure your booking early if this is your preference.

Motel Single, Double/Twin*: Private room with private ensuite bathroom.

Dormitory: Single-gender rooms of between 4-8 beds with shared bathroom facilities. Double/Twin* or Single hostel rooms may also be booked – these are basic private rooms with shared bathroom facilities.

*Twin/Double – Please note that if solo travellers wish to book a private room, they will need to select a hostel, motel, or comfort plus single room, as the operator does not pair solo travellers in twin or double room options.

For breakfast we supply cereals, toast, juice, tea & coffee. If there’s something you can’t do without, just bring it with you! Please advise your dietary requirements at the time of booking.

Some of our tours will include opportunities to taste and sample local produce; check the individual tour information for these details.

We do not supply lunches or dinners on any of our trips however our guides will recommend great places to eat along the way and stop at supermarkets to stock up on any supplies needed if you prefer to cook yourself.

Your guides aim to offer walks that cater for all types of fitness with easy, medium and hard walking options.

The hiking in Tasmania is world-class. Some walks are guided, while others are unguided (free walking)

In many locations there is a choice between an easier or more advanced option. Essentially, you can make this as active or as easy as you like; all walks are optional and range from 20 minutes up to 4 hours

Bring clothing that suits the season, while including warm clothes (it can get cold in the mountains), comfortable walking shoes, toiletries, a towel, hat, sunscreen, waterproof jacket, swimsuit, water bottle and camera. Luggage is restricted to one normal pack, bag or case (20kg) plus a small day pack.

All full day & extended tours include pick up and drop off from your city hostel or hotel.  Our tours leave from all major gateways to Tasmania so no matter whether you arrive by boat to Devonport, or by plane to Hobart or Launceston we have a tour to suit you.

The tours that we offer are designed to help you see as much of Tasmania as possible with like minded travelers. There is no maximum age provided you have a good sense of adventure and a reasonable level of fitness, however we do have a minimum age of 8 years old to ensure all passengers get the most from the tour!

This tour has a maximum group size of 24 passengers plus the tour guide. These small group sizes allow you plenty of time to get to know your fellow passengers and guide.

Tours are conducted in modern, comfortable air-conditioned buses. By having small groups it means you can spend as much time as possible outside the bus exploring the wonderful sights of Tasmania.

We included everything we believe is needed to have a great time in Tasmania while keeping our prices as low as possible. There are no extra charges or fees on any of our tours so the only expenses you’ll have throughout the tour will be extra meals not included, optional extras or souvenirs from the great places you’ll visit.
