What to Expect
Explore the largest fish market in the world! All the smells, sights and scales of Tsukiji are waiting.
Start with a coffee and tour at one of Tokyo’s best artisanal coffee spots, then spend the morning touring the inner and outer markets of Tsukiji. You'll get to see and experience Japanese market life from an insider’s perspective.
Explore some hidden gems and get a taste for different specialities of the area. Then, once you've worked up an appetite, it's time for breakfast!
Head to where local fish vendors eat their morning meal and enjoy your own unique Tsukiji breakfast. Fresh and cooked seafood is on the menu, and it's all delicious!
Afterwards, spend some time wandering the inner wholesale market and see some of the seafood specialists that have made Tsukiji world famous. There are over 700 vendors here, and all of them are experts in different seafood types.
Once you've met some of the locals and learnt about market life, you'll have the chance to stop off at a local shrine for a blessing.
Next, enjoy a tasting break and then head to the bustling outer market to try even more delicious food! Here you'll learn about famous Tsukiji dishes and the history and future of the market community. There's also the chance to purchase a Japanese cooking knife so you can remember your day.
Finally, end your tour on a sweet note with a tasty traditional snack.
This is a half-day tour, beginning at 8:45 am and ending at 12:00 pm. Meeting point is Turret Coffee Shop, 2 Chome-12-6 Tsukiji, Chuo-ku, Tokyo 104-0045.

You must be over 18 to book and confirm a tour.
In accordance with Japanese law, you must be over 20 years old to purchase and consume alcohol. And if you would like to drink on our tours we recommend you bring an identification card just in case the staff requests proof of age.
Yes, all of our administration and tour guides can speak English. Most are fully bilingual. We are adding other languages to our offerings as we grow and expand the business.
Yes, we have vegetarian menu options available for all tours; please tell us in advance so we can make the proper arrangements.
Yes, people who have allergies may join the tours; however please keep in mind that we cannot make a 100% allergy free food guarantee since all the food is prepared in the same kitchen. Cross-contamination is possible.
Out of respect for our other guests, we must start the tour on time. There is a grace period of 5 minutes after the tour start time; however, if you are not there by the end of the grace period you most probably will be left behind. As our tours are structured with stops at popular eateries, our schedule is created to arrive at times outside of their peak hours. Also, we have reservations for certain periods of time. We must meet our scheduled times to ensure the best tour for everyone.

Arigato Japan is not liable for theft or bodily injury that a participant suffers. We are not responsible for no shows or late arrivals. Please book a tour with sufficient time to arrive.
Please check the meeting point information our tour pages to know where to meet us. If you arrive more than 10 minutes after the meeting time, we will, unfortunately, have to start the tour without you.
The tours run on a pre-determined schedule, and the participant is responsible for keeping up with the tour. We are not responsible for a participant’s physical condition or choice of attire that may affect his ability to keep up. We may walk about 2 or more kilometres.
There are no free participants (except children under two years old) or participants that do not eat and simply accompany a participant.
We must abide by this condition to ensure that everyone’s experience is respected. We will try our best to make sure guests with dietary concerns and restrictions can enjoy our tours as well.
Cancellation fees are as follows:
- 7+ days before tour date: full refund
- 4 to 6 days before original tour date: 50% refund
- We cannot accept cancellations within 72 hours or less prior to tour: and we offer no refund in that time frame
